Short method for the detection of chick edema factor in fats, oils and fatty acids by electron capture gas chromatography.

چکیده
The electron capture gas liquid chromatography test method for chick edema factor has been modified by replacing the alumina column s t ep with an additional sulfuric acid cleanup and a caustic wash which permits a reduction in sample cleanup time. Samples are subjected to double preliminary sulfuric acid cleanup and caustic wash and extracted each time with t r imethyl pentane. The final extract is washed with sulfuric acid and examined by electron capture gas chromatography. Gas chromatographic peaks with retention times vs. Aldfin (Ra values) between 8 and 45 are indicative of the presence of chick edema factor.

متن کاملA chromatographic method for detection of palm oil in butter
Replacement with the cheaper animal fats or vegetable oils is conventional in milk through direct incorporation or homogenization of skimmed milk with less expensive foreign fats. The main objective of the present study was to evaluate the capability of a simple, fast, and reliable method for the detection of added palm oil in butter. The butter samples were mixed with palm oil (0.5-50 wt%) fol...
متن کاملRapid discrimination of fatty acid composition in fats and oils by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.
Fatty acids in 42 types of saponified vegetable and animal oils were analyzed by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) for the development of their rapid discrimination. The compositions were compared with those analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), a more conventional method used in the discrimination of fats and oils. Fatty acids extracted with 2-propanol were...
